3/20/15 - Las Cruces, NM

Left our accommodations at Walmart & hit the road headed for El Paso, TX & beyond. We stopped in Las Cruces for two nights to get a rest from the road. 

We stayed at a KOA campground up on a hill overlooking the city of Las Cruces. What a beautiful spot. We saw sunrises & sunsets, so beautiful. The campground even offered free motorhome washing. Of course, we did the washing.

While in Las Cruces we took a trip to the Dripping Springs Natural Area, Las Cruces.  

This is the dripping spring however it was a mile & a half up to it & back again & the terrain was large rocks so we opted out of that hike & chose the lower road, if you will. The worker at the desk indicated that the dripping spring was not dripping do to the lack of rain so went on a different trail.

My phone does not do these mountains justice. There were kids in the highest crevice of this mountain. 

I tried a selfie of us, but my arms are not long enough to do it justice. I will need to invest in a selfie stick that I saw on tv the other day. 

As we were leaving New Mexico on the highway there was a border patrol stopping all vehicles. Actually, the patrol officer was busy talking to another officer & just waving vehicles through.
